Do I need extra timing hardware?
No. Laps uses your phone's GPS to detect the start/finish line and time every lap automatically — no beacons, no transponder, nothing to install at the track. If you already own an external GPS like a RaceBox, you can pair it over Bluetooth for a higher-rate signal, but it is entirely optional.
Where can I use Laps?
Use Laps only at closed-course, off-public-road track days and HPDE events. Never use it on public roads, and never interact with the app while driving.
Is there a free version?
Yes. The free tier includes recording, the live HUD, GPS lap timing, your session logbook, and personal-best tracking.
What does Laps Pro cost and include?
Laps Pro is an optional subscription at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. New yearly subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Pro adds full lap analysis and telemetry, an unlimited garage, and lifetime stats.
How do I cancel Laps Pro?
Cancel an App Store or Google Play purchase in that store's subscription settings. For a web purchase, use the in-app billing portal. Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled.
Does recording work without a signal?
Yes. Recording works offline, and your sessions sync later when a connection is available.
